Scott Townsend

Chartered Accountant, father, business owner, teacher, writer, ex Milford Track guide and hospitality manager. That’s me. I have 4 sons but just the one wife due to legal reasons.

Fun at life but serious in business. That’s the values we aspire to here. I have a long history in helping small businesses thrive. I enjoy working together with you to build on your expertise.

I have worked in hotels throughout Australasia and was a guide on the famous Milford Track before taking the natural career progression into accounting. I have developed and taught papers at Queenstown Resort College as well as teaching small business owners through Te Wananga Aoteroa. My well rounded life experiences mean that I can give you the help you need in every sense of business. Nothing is a problem – I’m here to help.

My passion is to help people achieve their personal goals through business. My goal is to build a supportive business community with our clients and business partners where we can all happily share our knowledge and resources.

Tanu Sandhu

Tanu Sandhu

I’m Tanu Sandhu, the Office Manager at Number Up. I moved to to Queenstown from Christchurch, to be with my fiance who works in the golf industry.

I have a Bachelor and Post Graduate Diploma in Sales and Marketing, and left my last corporate job to start my own little business – Fallen Leaves. Apart from running this small business, I also manage my  fiance’s business and not to forget the household too!

I’m a problem solver at heart and I love working in customer service and client relationship management.

Nicki Shand

Nicki Shand

Hello there. My name is Nicki Shand and I am a chartered accountant based in Christchurch. Think that is still too far for Scott’s paper darts although he does say he has a good range.

I have worked as senior accountant for a number of larger firms in Christchurch and Nelson and have been a chartered accountant since 1998. A three-month secondment to New York would have to be one of the highlights of my career!

My job at Number Up is to help with annual financial statements and other tax compliance. I also answer your accounting queries. I was the FIF and PIE expert in a previous firm – so Scott was happy to offload that role onto me again!

I live on a lifestyle block in Ohoka so I have had to pick up a number of other skills including driving a tractor, changing the blades on my ride-on-mower and learning to use a chainsaw among other things.

I specialise in assisting with Xero software and some of it’s associated add-on softwares in order to improve efficiencies and make your life easier. So I am here to help you with all your accounting needs.

Leony Dudfield

I am the newest addition to the Number Up team but I worked for Scott 4 years ago, so happy to be back and be part of this great team again!

I didn’t start my career as an accountant (either!). With a civil engineering degree, I enjoyed the world of brand strategy and product management for 8 years, then ended up with an Accounting master degree in Australia 10 years ago. I am now studying/working towards CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) qualification. My work experience has always been alternating between business/commercial and public practice sectors. Currently I also hold the Company Accountant position for Staysouth.com.

Pretty full-on life with 2 school kids, but I am a bit (that may be an understatement) of a geek. My job satisfaction mainly comes from generating reports and analysis for decision making, also streamlining business processes to keep the costs down. I like exploring new software and apps, and whenever I can, I employ the good old Excel to do the (repetitive) work for me.

I share Scott’s dream to offer affordable management accounting (forecast, budget, cost analysis, etc) services for small businesses, on top of tax work. I think it’s important for a business, no matter how small, to have this information as a basis of decision making.

Renee Manabat

Renee Manabat

Hi, I am Renee. I have been a certified public accountant since 2014. I am based in the Philippines so too far for Scott’s darts and rubber bands. I have experience in public and private practice. I have worked as an auditor in a large accounting and audit firm. I also have experience as a financial analyst working for Shell. My current role is intermediate accountant at Number Up, helping prepare financial statements and other tasks.

I am also a writer/blogger by passion – just love expressing myself through writing. In my free time I love reading books, editing videos, watching Korean series and trading stocks. Yes, I may seem to be the homebody type of person but I also love going out when I’m with friends and family.

I am hardworking and always glad to be of help to our clients. I am very easy and fun to deal with. I’m here to help.

Julia Heath

Julia Heath

I’m Julia a Chartered Accountant and together with my Partner Ben I’ve recently relocated to Queenstown from the Manawatu/Wanganui area of the North Island. Having spent many years working as a Senior Accountant in Taihape, Palmerston North and Wanganui I’ve been privileged to gain plenty of experience working with a diverse range of clients and assisting them with their tax responsibilities and developing their businesses.

As well as having a passion for numbers, in my spare time, Ben and I are part-time bee keepers, very keen fishermen and highly motivated to get out and make the most of the great outdoors. We are loving exploring the beautiful South Island and all that it has on offer.

I enjoy getting know clients and their businesses so that I can help them to achieve their goals. I’m very excited to be working with both existing and new Number Up clients and I am committed to providing the best possible accounting support.
